Valkaria

Valkaria derives its name from Valkyrie, a warrior-maiden of Norse mythology.

Valkaria is a largely rural town with a mix of older homes and newer upscale homes on acre-plus lots. It had a population of 1,623 in the 2000 census.

You can find Valkaria by driving south from Melbourne or Palm Bay along on US1 along the Indian River Lagoon.

The Habitat Golf Course is a main feature in Valkaria. Located near the Valkaria Airport, it is a county owned, 6836 yard, par 72 course.

The Valkaria Airport is a private airport serving many small general aviation aircraft.
