Suntree
The town of Suntree is a new, fast growing, master-planned community begun in the 1970's. The development initially centered around a little used exit off I-95. It has grown into a prestigious, primarily residential community of nearly 8,000 residents.
Located in an unincorporated part of Brevard County north of Melbourne, Suntree is often considered a part of Melbourne, even though it has its own post office and library, and an elementary school.
Suntree takes great pride in its golf courses. It boasts two 18 hole champion courses, including an Arnold Palmer original. The Suntree Country Club is a private, member owned club.
Activities include golf, hiking trails, biking tennis and boating.
The Brevard Zoo is home to more than 550 animals representing over 165 species from North America, South America, Australia and Africa. Favorite among visitors are the two year old jaguar, and the baby giraffe. Activities include kayaking through Expedition Africa, Paws-On playground for children and adults, and the new Wildside Encounters, Destination Africa, where you can take a behind the scenes tour of the zoo with an animal keeper.
