Founded on June 6, 1955, Indian Harbour Beach is 2.6 square miles of oceanfront community.

It is located on the barrier island just north of Indialantic and south of Satellite Beach. The Eau Gallie Caseway connect Indian Harbour Beach to Melbourne on the mainland.

The 2004 US Census estimates the population at 8,503 with a median household income of $42,889.

Due to fiscal planning, Indian Harbour Beach has no long term indebtedness. This makes the tax rate among the lowest in Brevard County.

Indian Harbour Beach provides facilities for tennis, baseball, soccer, golfing, swimming and fishing. Gleason Park is a 27 acre facility surrounding a lake with exercise paths, pavilions, a heated pool, and community center.

Indian Harbour Beach is a mostly residential community with shopping centers, stores, and a wide variety of restaurants.
