Grant
South of Melbourne and Palm Bay, alongside the Indian River Lagoon lies the small community of Grant.
Grant has a population of about 792 people, mostly retirees.
Grant's main claim to fame is its annual seafood festival. The Grant Seafood Festival is held every February. It is the oldest and longest continuous seafood festival in the state of Florida. More than 50,000 visitors attend the Grant Seafood Festival each year.
Other activities in Grant are golf, boating, water sports, and fishing. The Fisherman's Landing is a park with a 630 ft riverfront boardwalk and a picnic area. It is a popular fishing spot.
On July 24, 2006, Grant voted to join with Valkaria to incorporate as Grant-Valkaria, Florida.
